Lab for the Acoustic Window Project, 2015

Everywhere was a one-weekend event in Santa Fe that brought together food, art, and community through a rally of box trucks. Cary Cluett contributed to Everywhere with an installation called Lab for Acoustic Window Project that explored the acoustics of space inside a 26-foot moving truck.  This project was the first iteration of a study through which Cluett attemps to isolate visual space and acoustic space through reflectivity, sound absoption and air flow.  His goal was to create two small chambers, with an open window between them.  Visual contact could be made between the chambers via an open window, but Cluett's special acoustic design prevented auditory transmission, causing a disconnect between visual and aural information and jumbling the viewer's natural perception.
